It is hard to find a good web site that allows you to send textual messages for free. I think I found one. It is not perfect, and sometimes messages are not delivered, but let's take a closer look.

SendSMSnow logoSendSMSnow requires a registration to let you send free text messages. After you register (it is a regular registration procedure, nothing fancy) you can login to your account and send SMS right away. To do that you need to click "Send SMS" on the left menu. After that when page refreshes you need to choose a number (drop down list of available countries with their code numbers, at this moment there are 34 of them), type a phone number you intend to send SMS to, and type a message. In the "from" field you will see your username, but that can be changed.

For all of you who watch the World Cup and who like to watch sport in general, there is a web site which gives you an opportunity to watch your favorite sport on the internet, live and for free.On the homepage you can choose between two modes: Live Sports and Live TV. Live TV gives you an opportunity to choose among some live channels like ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC... For some of these you can see a schedule. Some channels happened to exceed embedded quota and I needed to watch a channel on an original site. This happened with the Truth Channel and this is the one of the messages I've got: "Sorry, but embedded players have been disabled by the broadcaster. Please watch this channel on Justin.tv." (I like that channel, When I tested it there was a a lecture by Daniel Dennet who I admire. I assume that this is a quality channel).

Sex and the City review Print
Review - Movies

Sex and the City 2 the movieMaybe it is strange to hear a man's opinion about the movie for women. I'm still struggling to earn my self esteem, as being one of ten guys among 350-400 people who have seen the movie last night. I guess girls were too excited with the movie to laugh at guys watching Sex and the City 2. Even if I were dancing naked at the stage they wouldn't have noticed me, because this movie is all a girl can imagine. The movie takes you to Abu Dhabi, an exotic town somewhere in the Middle East. Not just that, it takes you to a luxury hotel where room costs you $22.000 a night! But, let's start from the beginning.

I like the movie because it deals with stereotypes. It begins with a gay wedding. We are never toot tired of gay stories. I don't know for you guys, but Croatia, where I am coming from, is still several light years behind the present so this gay wedding is something that we need. Here you still can hear something like: "Why do they need to go to the streets? Why do I need to look at them?", but this movie show us that we still need to be aware of the problems that gay people face every day. Not every country treats them equal, and there are some countries that still don't openly accept gay people. But another stereotype is under the magnifying glass. It's marriage. Old traditional understanding of marriage meets the modern people's needs. And the best of all, the movie suggests that none is better than the other. It is implied that we have the right and freedom to choose what's the best for us. If we want to have no children, that's fine, if we want sometimes a "day off", OK. As long as we keep basic values in our relationships, it's OK to adjust them to our needs. And that's the best part of it.

Zuma and Zuma Revenge

Zuma is well known game so it is trivial to explain how it is played. But that needs to be done in short. When I saw Zuma for the first time, I was impressed because it was something innovative and fresh. Even before this you have had puzzle games, match pairs and connect-this-and-that type of games. But Zume took all this a mile further. This time objects were not static, they moved. The main purpose of the game is to pair three or more balls of the same color. What makes the game more complicated is that the balls move and they move faster and additional colors appear. The goal is to get rid of all the balls coming from the edge of the screen. When you fill the bar at the top new balls stop coming and you need to get rid of the rest of the balls before they reach the hole.

Xmas iconsThis is the web site I came across surfing the web. I was amazed by how many good and quality icons you can download from the site. There are icons for almost all occasions: love, work, office, website, fun, music, animals, sport... Just name it. The web site claims to have over 20. 000 icons for systems, like Windows, Linux and Mac.

Icons and buttons are web 2.0 style, and they fit into any modern web site. They are also good if you want to used them for your desktop application or presentation. But they are not for commercial use. Download process goes pretty easy. Simply choose an icons set and a download button shows at the bottom. There is a Windows icon showed but I guess Icon's can be stored on other systems too. There is also a gif icons category where you can download gif icons. If there is no a download button, like in gif icons category, than you need to right click and choose "save as..." from the context menu.

Review of Unlocker Print
Review - Software

Unlocker is a freeware explorer extension that comes in handy when a file is impossible to delete for some reason. This light-weight application (less than a megabyte) ensures that your work is in no way interrupted by having it working in the background. So, why should you start using Unlocker if you didn't already?

I bet you have been in situations when you were stuck with files which you couldn't delete. Whatever you did, your system displayed you messages like "Cannot delete file: Access is denied", or "Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use." (My favorite). For some reason you simply couldn't delete files, except maybe if you restarted your system. To avoid wasting time doing restarts or trying to somehow find a way to delete files, simply install Unlocker and relax. When you get stuck by similar problems, the extension will "notice" that you've got a problem with deleting files and it will show up giving you some options. You can  "kill" files, unlock them, delete them, rename them, or move them. If extension doesn't show up, you can choose it from an explorer menu after clicking the right button when pointing at a file. There is almost no situation which Unlocker can't handle. Well, almost.

Free web hosting is easy to find, but a quality web hosting is another story. Free web hosting is often limited and hardly gives you enough space to maneuver.  When you are looking for a good web space for your web site, you want plenty of web space, plenty of bandwidth, you want a good domain and to be it the way you want it to be. If you want this for free, don't expect to get it.

But I would like to introduce you a quality web hosting company that gives you a fair trade. 000webhost.com gives you plenty of web space, enough bandwidth to run a good web site and no forced ads. There are some limitations but let's start with good things.

Legendary games of all time Print

ere is the small collection of games that I consider legendary. This is not any official list, no one voted for these games to be listed. They are here because I like them so you might not find these games attractive, but these are gems in the gaming industry and deserve to be remembered.

  • The Chaos Engine (Soldiers of Fortune)

Chaos Engine Sega gameI fell in love with this game since the first time I saw it, back then in 1993. If you are a modern-age kid, you probably wouldn't bother to try to find more information about this game, but have in mind that, when this game was out, it was a mile in front of other games. It was one of the first games that had digital sound and music, astonishing graphic and addictive gameplay. This game had it all to make a legend: 16 levels through 4 worlds: Forest, Workshop, Fortesque Mansion and Sewer, non-stop action full of hidden traps, enemies, doors and keys, weapons that you can upgrade with the money you collect, and also, to upgrade your skills, energy bar, to buy new weapons or you partner who died in the battlefield. Here you can see how all this looks like: The Chaos Engine. You will be remembered.
